Full time position available, working across 7 days Fixed-Term 9 months

You will be initially assigned to work within the  Brierley Hill Cluster.

We are looking to appoint a Band 6 District Nurse into our friendly and supportive team. You must have effective communication and negotiation skills.  As an advocate for our patients, you need to have the ability to inspire people at all levels.  This post would require that you had an understanding of the expanding role of community nursing and would have the commitment to take it forward.  You will need a sound understanding of the current primary care agenda, with excellent communication skills and effective leadership and decision-making skills. You will need to be innovative and able to work autonomously whilst promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for team members and students. This would be an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills in supporting the team leader.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is responsible for the ongoing assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The post holder will carry out all relevant forms of care and will take responsibility for caseload holders in their absence.

Qualifications and Education

Essential criteria
  • First level Registered Nurse
  • Degree in District Nursing or equivalent (Specialist practitioner qualification in District Nursing
  • Nurse Prescriber
  • Evidence of continual professional development

Communication & Relationship Skills

Essential criteria
  • Must be able to commute to meet the demands of the role

Knowledge and Training

Essential criteria
  • Post registration experience to include: Evidence of mentoring, Project working, Specialist training & Management & Development of others.
  • Good background knowledge of issues within the primary care arena

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of being able to work as part of a team
  • Evidence of knowledge relating to caseload management and leadership/provision of support to others
