We are looking for motivated passionate and experienced midwives to join our team at Dudley to take on the role of Lead midwife for maternity inpatients. The successful candidate will take responsible for the safe daily leadership of the Maternity inpatient setting, being allocated either labour ward, or the maternity ward. They will be responsible for the smooth and effective running of the shift as well as providing effective leadership to all staff. They will respond appropriately to emergencies and escalate concerns as required. They will have excellent communication skills, and be a team player with a focus on safety and great patient experience.
The post holder will be responsible for the daily management of the Maternity Unit, organising the service activities, resources, staff team and capacity. The post holder will be responsible for the line management of an allocated and defined caseload of staff. They will be expected to support the Matron and deputy matron in developing and monitoring services and the quality of care experienced by women and their families as well as maintenance of a safe and secure environment.
