The Ophthalmology department is looking for someone who is motivated, hardworking and reliable to fulfil the role of Staff Nurse. The successful candidates will join an enthusiastic, motivated, team of Ophthalmic nurses who work alongside  consultant Ophthalmologists, doctors and an Orthoptic department. The Eye Department includes specialists in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Motility, Glaucoma, Corneal, Macular and Retina and Oculoplastics.

It is a very busy and expanding department which is constantly striving for improvements in patient care and as a part of the team you will be actively involved in developing our service for the future.

The working week follows a 6 week rota cycle and includes Saturdays and evening clinics. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the management of the Nursing Unit/Department during the shift, including the organisation of the Nursing Unit/Department activities and the management of staff and resources. The post holder will support the Lead Nurse and Matron in developing and monitoring services and the quality of care experienced by patients.
