In a Trust that is expanding it's digital portfolio, this post will be at the forefront of digitising medicines management and optimisation. With an established electronic prescribing and administrations (ePMA) systems, Trust-wide digital temperature monitoring, robotic dispensing upgrade in progress with ward digital medicines storage and pharmacy automation in the horizon, it is an exciting time to join the Trust and further your quest in pharmacy digital solutions.

This exciting post provides the opportunity to work with a friendly and proactive clinical and technical pharmacy team. 

The post will be predominantly supporting the pharmacy digital team in management of pharmacy digital systems. This will also involve projects that optimise ePMA and digital medicines solutions by integrating the systems we use. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Principal Pharmacist for Digital Medicines and EPMA in delivering the digital strategy related to medicines optimisation.

The post holder will manage the IT elements of the following (but not limited to) pharmacy systems:

  • Chemocare - Chemotherapy electronic prescribing, preparation and administration.
  • WellSky - Stock Control and Distribution
  • Pharmacy Tracking System
  • Sunrise - EPMA Optimisation of workflows
  • ICCA - Critical care prescribing system drug configuration and management
  • Pharmacy Automated Central Stockholding (pharmacy robot) and other drug automated systems.
  • Ward Based Automated Electronic Medicines Cabinets

The post holder will be supported by the Principal Pharmacist for Digital Medicines and EPMA and the pharmacy digital team and will be provided with training and learning to support the role.

Essential criteria
  • Registered technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Accredited Checking Technician

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Recent qualification experience in hospital pharmacy, evidenced by a competency-based assessment.
  • Experience using and working with Pharmacy IT systems. Providing support and troubleshooting pharmacy IT issues.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with an EPR system.
  • Experience using/ working with Chemocare
