Job overview

Band 5 Theatre Practitioner - Full and part time positions available.

Are you ready to take the next step towards an exciting new challenge?

If so look no further than our Operating Theatres at the Dudley Group – we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated band 5 theatre scrub and ODP practitioners for our suite of operating theatres, and have recently developed a new non-managerial Band 6 clinical role that recognises outstanding skill. All practitioners have an opportunity to undertake training and development that will allow progression toward this role.

The Department has achieved The Royal College of Anaesthetists with Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation (ACSA). We are the first Trust in the West Midlands to achieve this accolade.

This is an exciting time to join our team. Our latest CQC inspection rated us as ‘good’. Do you have the attributes to help us become outstanding?

Main duties of the job

We are innovative, forward thinking and provide excellent standards of care. Whether a newly qualified or an experienced Band 5 practitioner looking for a new challenge our commitment to you is that we will support and develop you into a competent theatre practitioner. Your personal and professional development is important to us and will be facilitated through a structured development and competency programme, allowing you the opportunity to experience all surgical specialist areas.

Through a fully supported rotation programme you will gain all the skills and confidence to enable you to care safely for patients undergoing both Elective and Urgent/Emergency Care surgery.

Working for our organisation

At the Dudley Group our patients and staff are at the heart of all that we do and that is to provide a world class service that aligns with our vision of providing safe, caring and effective services because people matter.  We are seeking to recruit staff who share our vision and values of making Dudley Group an incredible workplace.

We are committed to becoming a diverse and an inclusive employer and where people feel sense of belonging. Seeking to expand diversity within our teams, we positively encourage applications from under-represented groups such as BAME, disabled and LGBTQ+ groups. We are also under-represented in-terms of gender within nursing roles and we would welcome applications from people from male and non-binary backgrounds.

We are committed to home life balance through flexible working and making reasonable adjustments where possible.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
